RVM Systems is a global company that develops, manufactures, installs and maintains reverse vending machines. The innovative vending machines provide sorting and recycling of beverage drink containers. With this RVM Systems reduces the amount of waste and protects the environment for future generations. RVM Systems B.V. in De Meern is part of RVM Systems in Sweden. The company has locations all over the world. This year, the growing and ambitious organization was looking for a partner who could provide them with a reliable 4G IoT solution for its deposit return solutions. So that users at each location are encouraged to recycle beverage containers, such as bottles and cans. In Capestone and Teltonika, they found reliable partners. <\/strong><\/p>\n \n <\/div>\n\n \n <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Business Challenge<\/h3>\n

Cans and plastic bottles are in the top 5 of the most frequently found litter. Therefore, since July 1, 2021, in addition to deposits on large PET bottles, there is also a deposit on small plastic bottles. From April 1, 2023, the deposit system for cans has been added. With the goal of reducing litter and recovering valuable material for reuse. RVM Systems offers reliable technology to recycle packaging to create a more sustainable environment. The Scandinavian company develops, manufactures, installs and maintains deposit systems for supermarkets and other participating locations. “Encouraging the recycling of single use of plastic bottles works by charging everyone who buys a drink a small deposit. Then giving this deposit back when they return the bottle or can to a drop-off point so it can be recycled. Offering sufficient return points is essential in this and in line with environmental legislation. For example, “Statiegeld Nederland”<\/a> has the goal for 2024 to take back 90% of depositable products. RVM Systems meets the need for the expansion of reverse vending machines. Not only in the expansion of existing reverse vending machines in supermarkets but also with free-standing and modular machines to be placed at locations such as gas stations, amusement parks, garden centers and events. Actually at every location where people can buy drinks there should be a reverse vending machine,” said Michel van der Horst, Account Manager at RVM Systems.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n \n

Only a stable and uninterrupted connection enables remote management<\/h3>\n

RVM Systems’ vending machines for deposit solutions are being rolled\u00a0rapidly. To read and manage the machines remotely, a 4G solution was chosen. “Only a stable and uninterrupted connection makes remote management possible. Also the return of deposits in the form of a Tikkie or a donation to charity must run smoothly and securely at each location.” RVM Systems was looking for a total solution which we found at Capestone. For our solution we use routers from Teltonika Networks<\/a> with VPN options for a secure connection. Via Remote Management System of Teltonika we are able to monitor, update and deploy all machines remotely. Capestone thought along in the overall solution which is very pleasant. Also the fact that they are a one-stop-shop where we can also purchase the data subscriptions for the Benelux, makes us carefree. This way RVM Systems can fully focus on reducing waste and protecting the environment.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n \n
