What does failover mean?<\/h2>\n\n \n

Routers with a failover feature are indispensable for organizations that want 100% uptime. These routers automatically switch to an alternative connection if the main connection fails. For example, to 4G \/ 5G if the fixed Internet line fails. Or from SIM 1 to SIM 2 if the network fails.<\/p>\n \n <\/div>\n\n \n <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

4G routers with failover feature: never again internet outages<\/h2>\n

As a store, restaurant or gas station, you shouldn’t think about not being able to pay by debit card. Fewer and fewer people have money in their pockets to pay for their groceries, dinner or full tank of gas.<\/p>\n

And with almost everyone working in the cloud, it’s every company’s nightmare when employees can’t access their files due to an outage. Orders are no longer processed, bookings cannot be made. Employees soon leave for home because they do have Internet there.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n \n

How do 4G routers with failover feature work?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Most routers with the failover feature offer Internet over a landline (WAN port) as well as 3G, 4G or 5G (SIM card). Many routers with the failover feature also offer Internet via WiFi (WAW) and have 2 SIM slots (dual SIM).<\/p>\n

They can be set to automatically switch to another Internet connection if the main connection fails. For example, to 4G if the fixed Internet line goes down. Or from SIM 1 to SIM 2 if the network leaves something to be desired. Once the main connection is working again, they switch back to it as soon as possible, this is called fallback.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n \n

Use as main router or emergency router<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Routers with a failover feature can be used as a main router or an emergency router. When used as the main router, no other router is needed. The router meets the customer’s needs in all aspects and provides the company with Internet, secure connections, WiFi and any other options.<\/p>\n

When routers with failover function are used as emergency routers, they are linked to the main router and are “in front” of it, for example. This can be useful if the main router meets the customer’s needs better and, for example, has more LAN ports or VPN connections than the router with failover feature. In this case, the emergency router comes into action only if the main connection fails and it needs to establish an alternate connection.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n \n \n <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n
