Teltonika RUTC42 – dual modem edge router with LTE Cat 4, Wi-Fi 6 and Docker support
The Teltonika RUTC42 is a dual modem edge router for environments where network availability and local processing are important. The device features two LTE Cat 4 modules for failover and load balancing and supports Wi-Fi 6 with dual-band MU-MIMO. The combination of a dual-core CPU, 1GB of RAM and native Docker support allows applications to run locally on the device. The router runs on RutOS, an OpenWrt-based operating system, and supports extensive network functionality and remote management via RMS. In addition, the RUTC42 offers support for dual SIM and eSIM, allowing flexible mobile network configurations.

The RUTC42 combines mobile connectivity with comprehensive network and IoT integrations. The device supports protocols and services such as MQTT, Modbus, OPC UA, BACnet, DNP3 and DLMS/COSEM. In addition, the router offers integration with cloud platforms such as AWS IoT Core, Azure IoT Hub, Cumulocity and ThingWorx. Docker support allows isolated applications and services to run directly on the device, enabling deployment at the edge.
Edge router management and configuration
The RUTC42 can be managed via WebUI, CLI, SSH, JSON-RPC and API. In addition, the device supports Teltonika RMS for centralized remote management, configuration and firmware updates. Monitoring is possible via SNMP, MQTT, SMS and event logs, among others. Firmware updates can be performed locally, via FOTA or via RMS.
