The Teltonika RUT276 is a compact and robust RedCap 5G router designed specifically for industrial and IoT applications where reliable connectivity is critical. With this router you get the core benefits of 5G at home higher data rates, lower latency and a more stable network without the higher cost of a full-fledged 5G module.

The RUT276 combines dual SIM support, serial interfaces (RS232 and RS485), Wi-Fi 4 connectivity and the powerful RutOS operating system in one compact, industrial housing. This makes this router ideally suited for M2M, IIoT, SCADA and automation applications where continuous uptime and data security are essential.

 

5G RedCap – the new standard in industrial connectivity

The Teltonika RUT276 uses the 5G RedCap (Reduced Capability) standard, developed for IoT and industrial applications that need the performance of 5G but not the high cost or power consumption of high-end 5G modems.

With download speeds up to 223 Mbps and upload speeds up to 123 Mbps, this router offers significantly better performance than traditional 4G LTE Cat 4 devices. Thanks to its low latency, the RUT276 is well suited for real-time applications such as machine control, sensor networks, video surveillance and industrial automation.

The dual SIM feature with automatic failover ensures that the connection never fails. When the primary mobile network is unavailable, the router automatically switches to the second SIM card. This keeps your infrastructure always connected a must for mission-critical applications.

 

Flexible industrial interfaces

The Teltonika RUT276 features both RS232 and RS485 interfaces, allowing the router to integrate seamlessly with a wide range of industrial devices and PLC systems. This allows data to be securely collected, monitored and transmitted to IP networks or cloud environments.

 

The router also provides native support for industrial communication protocols, including:

  • Modbus RTU/TCP for data acquisition and monitoring
  • OPC UA for industrial automation
  • BACnet for building management
  • DNP3 and DLMS/COSEM for energy and utility monitoring

The RUT276 runs on RutOS, Teltonika Networks’ Linux-based operating system known for its stability, security and versatility. RutOS offers a complete set of advanced networking and security features:

  • VPN support: OpenVPN, IPsec, WireGuard, DMVPN, SSTP, L2TP and more
  • Firewall security: NAT, VLAN, port forwarding, IP filtering and DoS prevention
  • QoS and Smart Queue Management: advanced traffic management for stable performance
  • Failover and Load Balancing: automatic switching between connections
  • Hotspot functionality: captive portal with RADIUS authentication and user management
  • DNS over HTTPS: encrypted domain name resolution for added security
  • Multi-SSID Wi-Fi 4 (802.11b/g/n): up to 50 simultaneous connections

The router can additionally use TR-069, SNMP, MQTT, JSON-RPC and Teltonika RMS, making remote management, monitoring and automation easy.

 

Robust industrial design

The Teltonika RUT276 is built for durability and continuous use in industrial environments. The router features a strong aluminum housing that can withstand shock, dust and temperature extremes.

With a compact size of 83 x 83 x 25 mm and weighing only 132 grams, the RUT276 is easy to integrate into cabinets, switchboard installations or vehicles. Flexible mounting options – DIN rail, wall or flush mounting – make installation easy in any industrial setting.

The router operates reliably within an operating temperature range of -40°C to +75°C and can be powered via 9-57 VDC or active PoE (802.3af). Its low power consumption (<3.5 W max) also makes it suitable for off-grid or energy-efficient applications.

 

Cloud-ready and remote management via RMS

The RUT276 is fully compatible with the Teltonika Remote Management System (RMS), which allows users to centrally manage, configure and update devices. This saves time, reduces operational costs and increases the reliability of your network.

RMS offers:

  • Clear dashboards with status and performance data
  • Secure VPN access to remote devices
  • Firmware updates and remote configuration management
  • Integration with external monitoring tools and IoT platforms

In addition, the router can securely send data to cloud environments such as AWS IoT Core, Microsoft Azure IoT Hub, Cumulocity and ThingWorx, thanks to the built-in Data to Server feature in RutOS.
