Teltonika RUT271 eSIM – RedCap 5G SA industrial router with 4G LTE Cat 4 fallback, Wi-Fi 4, WAN failover and remote management
The Teltonika RUT271 is an industrial-grade RedCap 5G router that takes the step between 4G LTE and full-capacity 5G. The model supports 5G Sub-6GHz SA and is backward compatible with 4G LTE Cat 4, so you can deploy the same router in networks where 5G is available as well as in locations where you fall back on 4G. For local integration, the RUT271 combines 2× RJ45 10/100 Mbps (WAN + LAN) with Wi-Fi 4 (802.11b/g/n) in Access Point (AP) and Station (STA) mode, including Hotspot functionality and support for up to 50 simultaneous Wi-Fi connections. For network continuity, WAN failover, network backup and load balancing are included, while remote management is possible via Teltonika RMS, WebUI and FOTA.
Compact and industrial platform with RedCap 5G SA (Release 17) and 4G fallback
In the mobile specifications, the RUT271 is elaborated as a Release 17 RedCap router with 5G SA (standalone) architecture. This makes the router deployable for use cases where 5G low latency and wireless capacity is desired, while maintaining 4G LTE Cat 4 fallback for continuity in mixed coverage. Depending on order code, the RUT271 additionally supports consumer type eSIM (up to 7 profiles, including profile download and removal) and SIM switch with auto-switch cases.
RedCap 5G, Wi-Fi 4 and Ethernet Key technology and integration points
The RUT271 combines 5G SA (RedCap) and 4G LTE Cat 4 with Wi-Fi 4 and 2× Ethernet for integration into edge networks. The mobile stack specifies status parameters for network diagnostics (including RSSI, SINR, RSRP, RSRQ and band/earfcn information), plus features such as auto APN, bridge and passthrough. For Wi-Fi, security options are specified including WPA2-Enterprise and WPA3 variants and 802.11w Protected Management Frames (PMF), in addition to mesh (802.11s) and fast roaming (802.11r). Included in RutOS are networking features such as routing, DHCP, firewall, VLAN, QoS/SQM, DNS over HTTPS, DDNS and Hotspot/captive portal capabilities.
RMS, WebUI, FOTA and TR-069 Management and configuration
The RUT271 supports Teltonika RMS and WebUI (HTTP/HTTPS) for status, configuration, troubleshooting and logging, including firmware management. Firmware updates are supported via FOTA (firmware update from server, automatic notification). TR-069 and SNMP (v1/v2/v3 + SNMP Trap) are specified for management in larger environments, supplemented by SSH, JSON-RPC management API and MQTT (broker/publisher). Also included are SMS status/configuration, e-mail alerts and call actions (reboot/status/mobile data on/off/output on/off/Wi-Fi on/off).
