The Teltonika FTM887 is a next-generation 4G LTE Cat M1 battery-mounted vehicle GPS tracker for professional vehicle tracking, fleet telematics and applications where fast installation and robust hardware are important. The tracker combines LTE Cat M1, NB-IoT, GPRS, GNSS and Bluetooth® LE in one compact solution for mobile assets and vehicles. For position tracking, the FTM887 supports GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO and BEIDOU, with an L1 75-channel receiver, tracking sensitivity of -165 dBm and a position accuracy of < 1.5 m CEP. The tracker features dead reckoning, an IP69K housing, internal High Gain GNSS and cellular antennas, a 320 mAh backup battery and USB Type-C. This makes this model suitable for vehicle solutions where location tracking, ruggedness and battery-mounted installation come together.

FTM887 technology, dead reckoning and vehicle tracking integration

The Teltonika FTM887 combines LTE Cat M1 connectivity with GNSS positioning, dead reckoning and a rugged IP69K enclosure. Depending on the version, the tracker uses a Quectel BG95-M1, BG95-M3 or BG95-M6 module with AG3335. For GNSS, the device supports GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO and BEIDOU, with hot start < 1 s, hot start < 25 s and cold start < 35 s. The FTM887 features an internal High Gain GNSS antenna and internal High Gain cellular antenna, eliminating the need for external antennas. Through the U-Type cable, USB 2.0 USB Type-C, Nano-SIM and 128MB internal flash memory, the tracker connects to professional vehicle installations where compact hardware and fixed integration are important.

FTM887 management and configuration

For configuration and firmware updates, the Teltonika FTM887 supports FOTA WEB and Teltonika Configuration Tool. In addition, the device supports SMS for configuration and debug, and GPRS commands for configuration and debug. Time synchronization is possible via GNSS, NITZ and NTP. The tracker supports Deep Sleep, Online Sleep and Power Off Sleep. Thus, the FTM887 fits within management processes in which firmware, configuration, tracking settings and device status are managed via Teltonika tools.
