Teltonika EYE Sensor
Reliable monitoring of assets and environmental conditions
The Teltonika EYE Sensor is a compact Bluetooth® Low Energy (BLE) sensor designed for monitoring assets and their environmental conditions. The sensor measures temperature, humidity, motion and magnetic status and is suitable for a variety of industrial and logistics applications where insight, traceability and reliability are essential.
With its energy-efficient design, rugged IP67 housing and easy configuration via the Teltonika EYE App, the EYE Sensor is suitable for long-term deployment in logistics, cold chain, agriculture, construction and asset tracking applications, among others.
Functional positioning within IoT and industrial applications
The Teltonika EYE Sensor functions as a Bluetooth ID beacon with integrated sensors. The device periodically transmits data via Bluetooth® 4.2, which can be received by compatible gateways, mobile devices or Teltonika tracking solutions.
The sensor supports multiple beacon protocols, including iBeacon, Eddystone and the Teltonika protocol, enabling integration with existing IoT and tracking platforms. This makes the EYE Sensor suitable for both standalone monitoring and large-scale IoT deployments.
Compact design and practical mounting
The EYE Sensor has a lightweight and compact design with a robust housing that is resistant to dust and water. With two mounting points on either side, the sensor can be easily attached with screws, strips, cable ties or tape.
Weighing only 18 grams and with a compact form factor, the sensor is suitable for mounting on a variety of objects, such as containers, trailers, tools, machinery and other mobile or fixed assets.
Sensors for temperature, motion and status detection
The Teltonika EYE Sensor features multiple integrated sensors, including:
- Temperature sensor for monitoring ambient conditions
- Humidity sensor
- Accelerometer for motion detection
- Magnetic detection for open/close status (e.g., doors or shutters)
This combination makes the sensor suitable for applications such as cold chain monitoring, door status detection, asset movement and commodity tracking.
Hardware and internal functionality
Internally, the EYE Sensor uses the STMicroelectronics BlueNRG-2 microcontroller, designed specifically for low-power Bluetooth applications. The sensor supports, among other things:
- Beacon ID broadcast
- LED indication
- Hibernate mode for power saving
Configuration, firmware updates and data readout are via the Teltonika EYE App, available for mobile devices.
Bluetooth connectivity and range
The EYE Sensor supports Bluetooth® 4.2 (Bluetooth® 5.2 certified) and operates within the frequency range of 2.402 – 2.480 GHz. The maximum wireless range is up to 80 meters, depending on the environment and installation.
The transmission power is adjustable up to 8 dBm, allowing range and power consumption to be matched.
Battery and deployment time
The Teltonika EYE Sensor is equipped with a non-replaceable CR2450 lithium battery (Li/MnOâ‚‚) with a capacity of 600 mAh. Depending on the transmission interval set, the battery life is:
- Up to 2.5 years at an interval of 3 seconds
- Up to 4 years at an interval of 5 seconds (default setting)
- Up to 5 years at 10-second intervals
- Up to 7 years at 10-second intervals with accelerometer disabled
This allows for long-term deployment with minimal maintenance requirements.
