Why the Teltonika RUT281?

Unlike variants that use Asian chipsets, the RUT281 is equipped with a Telit module produced of American origin. The eSIM bootstrap functionality also allows provider profiles to be managed and downloaded remotely, eliminating the need for physical site visits and simplifying large-scale management.
Reliable connectivity and failover
To ensure network continuity, the RUT281 features WAN failover and load balancing. This allows the system to automatically switch to a backup connection in case of signal loss, which is essential in demanding environments. In addition to the integrated eSIM, which can hold up to seven different profiles, there is a physical Mini SIM slot for maximum redundancy and flexibility in provider choice.

The RUT281 offers comprehensive security features, including a pre-configured firewall, VLAN separation and support for modern encryption standards such as WPA3. For secure data connections, the device supports numerous VPN protocols, including OpenVPN (with 27 encryption methods), IPsec, WireGuard and ZeroTier. Remote management is seamlessly integrated via the Teltonika Remote Management System (RMS), WebUI and FOTA.
