The Digi IX40 is not only a network router, but also a powerful edge computing solution. With a built-in quad-core ARM Cortex-A53 processor, 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of flash memory, this router is capable of hosting container-based applications locally via Digi Containers. This makes it possible to apply real-time data analysis and local automation without relying on remote data centers.
In addition, the IX40 integrates effortlessly with operational technology (OT) and information technology (IT), thanks to comprehensive protocols such as Modbus, VPN, VLAN, GRE and SNMP. Through Digi Remote Manager® (Digi RM) – part of the Digi 360 solution – configure, manage and monitor your entire router fleet centrally from the cloud, with support for mass configuration and automatic updates.

The IX40 is equipped with a comprehensive set of gates for a variety of industrial applications:
